We moved to a 18 month old house in Louisiana. Every time we open the doors or windows to air out the house the smoke detectors start beeping. I have changed the battery backup (they are electric) and nothing seems to work. The air here is rarely dry or dusty and nothing is burning outside. I have called the fire department and i can’t get any answers. I have a smoke detector in every room of my house and all of them do the same thing when windows are open. I bought a new lcd tv and got a really expensive surge protector so it doesn’t ever blow up. It’s all hooked up and working, but the surge protector has a connection for the cable to run through that instead of directly from the wall into the cable box. I presently have the cable cord going from the wall to the cable box, but want to hook it up from the wall to the surge protector so it is protected. My question is, do I need 2 cables to do this? One from the wall to the surge protector and one cable from the surge protector to the cable box? Thanks!
