Battery Backup is low for Laptop?

Hai All,
I am using Acer Aspire 4520, already 1 year over (out of warranty). Now i am not getting the battery backup. Maximum i am getting 30 minutes, i contact with the acer customer care and they told to buy a new battery and its Price is 3500. I want to know is it possible to repair the battery? Or is there any way to increase the battery backup.??? Please Help…

Tell them to replace it. Even if it is out of the warranty, the sale of goods act will state that it must work for at LEAST 3 years without failing. Your battery was sold to you as defective goods as it didn’t last for the proper lifetime it should have.
Why should you buy a new one, when it is their fault? Loyse
