im not a camera battery genius so i hope this will help.
maybe on the box it says something about it being okay on other cameras. or you could ask someone at the store. that’s hat I had to do with mine. And now I always hhave a backup.
I have a Cannon camera so im not sure about yours. sorry, i tried

No disadvantages ! but i think that this change can damage your new battery(SDV) ! while it isn’t a disadvantage for your cam

The proprietary Li-ion batteries made for the major brand camera companies have current controllers and over charging protection circuits in them. I know of no generic that does. IF the generic were to damage your camera, the camera will most likely not be covered under your Olympus warranty.

Spend the few extra dollars and buy the real deal.

I don’t think it will hurt it. It probably won’t last a long (both on a charge, and the lifetime of the battery).

No disadvantages. It should work fine in your current camera as specified.

You can always return it if it does not.
