Rachel asked: I got up from my computer to get a coke and when I returned I noticed that my speaker system had lost power. The light that tells you there is power was off. I tried unplugging them then replugging them back in, but that didn’t work. I tried rebooting my computer, turning off my battery backup, then starting everything back up again, still didn’t work. I’ve tried looking for help on the makers website, but there is no support. They are Altec Lansing speakers.
Any ideas how I can get power back to my speakers? I need music!!

These are all the things I need powered. 600w computer with 4 hard drives and about 5 fans. 26″ lcd screen, cordless phone, cable modem, router, VoIP box (Vonage). I want at least 8 min run time for computer. VoIP, router and modem will last for days on most any backup since they use little power.

When selecting the Manufacturer, I receive this msg; “The UPS service could not access the specified Comm Port” The only option I have is COM3. I’m not sure I understand everything about my battery backup. This is the first time I’ve had UPS. In the past I’ve used a surge protector. The info that came with my battery (APC) is not of much use for anything.
I do have the USP cord attached.
I meant USB!!!

f350lariat asked: I have a APC ES500 or something like that, that my computer is hooked up too. I also have a clock radio and a few other things plugged in to it.
I’ve noticed that during a power outage, the radio and other stuff kept on working.
Will this be the case if I have a TV or something just as big hooked up to it? That way I can safely shut it off.
