lanneypoo4u asked: Actually, my clumsy husband spilled his water all over our desk and it proceeded to spill back behind the desk and straight onto a wall outlet, and surge protector, and all over the surrounding cords. We have already disconnected his laptop from its power source as a preventative measure…what, if anything, should we do next? Can this create a bigger problem?

Also, do you have a brand name that is better above the rest (located in Ontario, Canada)? Thanks!

Marcus asked: I’d like to install a 12v car battery as a backup in my attic for my garage door opener and driveway flood lights. What safety issues should I be concerned about? is there a better battery option to use? I’m guessing hydrogen leaking into my attic is dangerous and possible, is this a problem or would it disperse enough to be harmless?

curiousdog asked:
My garage only has two wall outlets and they are in two inconvenient places. I want to know if it is okay to plug the extension cord into the wall outlet but have a power strip/surge protector in the other end.

Gil Amish asked:
I have an old digit lock safe. The backup key was lost and it looks like the battery is dry so I am unable to open it. It has 200$-300$ in it. Any creative idea how to open it without spending the amount in it in the process?

greymom asked: I recently had a battery sump pump installed as a backup to my existing sump pump. Prior to this my first pump was quiet. Now I hear a sucking sound and it lasts for about 3 or 4 seconds. There are 2 check valves. One for each pump. The first check valve is higher up on the tubing and the second is down close to the pumps. Installer says I need to either dig up my yard and re-install the drainage pipes outside or remove the battery backup pump. Does anyone have any other advice?
Thanks!

The Kilted Cowboy from Texas asked:
I was curious if I rewired the AC motors on both the squirrel cage fan and outdoor unit to DC, and hooked solar panels directly to with battery backup, would that be anymore efficient than converting to AC?

John M asked:
i have built a makeshift backup lighting system for my house and would like to know what the best battery would be. i also plan to expand this system to power more equipment, maybe even the whole house. i am currently using 3 car batteries.also, where can i get good solar panels and a battery charger for them for a reasonable price?
i live in Pennsylvania and i am just in search of stuff for a backup system for 24-48 hours of runtime
jivepacketrat, i had the same idea, i had some old useless batteries that wouldn’t work right so i strung them together and a week later they were working fine.
