I have an APC battery backup/surge protector, obviously, and I’ll be using my computer and the solid tone beep will just start going off. Power didn’t go out, the light on the battery backup is still on, the only connections i’m using are the 3 with surge protection. the ones without surge protection aren’t touched. anyone know whats happening? or how I avoid it?

deryckza asked:
The clock in the bottom right hand corner of my screen loses time when my PC is turned off overnight. If in fact there is a back-up battery installed to maintain the correct time, how difficult would it be for me to change it? Is there a standard place where it should be or is it a case of “Seek and find?”

I want to use my laptop during my 16 hours of long journey in a plane. But my laptop’s battery does not give me backup for more than 1 hour. Is their anyway that I can increase the backup time of my laptop’s battery so that I can continue doing my work because airline staff does not have any way to recharge the laptop battery. Any clue?

Lucifer Sam asked: Just wondering. I pretty much live in tornado alley, and it’s that magical time of year where I’m bombarded with thunderstorms; because of this, I frequently find myself unplugging all of my electronics. I’m asking three questions in one.
1) How well does a surge protector work in a thunderstorm?
2) Where can I find a surge protector?
3) Is it still a myth that unplugging your computer during a thunderstorm can help protect your electronics?
Thanks, your answers are always appreciated!

drewsdesigns asked: I’m looking for any solutions or gadget/device to get an email alert when there is a power outage at my house.
So far what comes to mind is some kind of battery backup device with ethernet or phone connection.
I dont mind to leave my pc on 24/7 but this isn’t ideal.
