Cupooterluvr asked: I wanted to be able to use the switch outlet, but my computer’s surge protector covers up the other hole… Can I plug the surge protector into a power strip (the plug isn’t angled on the power strip) without overloading it? Nothing is changing about the arrangement of the plugs on the surge protector except that I’m plugging a lamp into the switch outlet.

Computer Head asked: When things are plugged in they use energy even when they are off, but does plugging the things into a surge protector and turning off the surge protector when not in use stop the power from going to the devices?

Steven asked: The battery in my APC Back_UPS Pro 650 is discharged - but I do NOT want to purchase another battery or UPS because the stand alone computer system it is protecting will no longer be used in a couple of months.
Will that UPS (with the discharged battery) still provide surge suppression. I do realize that without a working battery, it can no longer go on battery backup nor automatically shutdown the computer.

DoubleO 7 asked:
I am doing a New Product Development project. And so, I was researching on a portable charging device (like a backup battery) which if plugged-in onto the USB of a laptop, would be able to give some battery life, at a time when there would be no access to sockets nearby.

Suriya S asked: i have 10 KVA Numeric UPS. Currently 20 SMF batteries has been connected. But is giving only 20 mins of backup time.
People say that backup time will get reduced very quickly in SMF batteries and advised to go for Tubular batteries.
Is it true? Which type of battery give more backup time atleast for next 3 to 4 years? is it SMF or UMF or Tubular?
Any help appreciated..
regards
Suriya

bse48 asked:
My laptop, printer, etc are plugged into a strip surge protector. If I turn the surge protector off in an effort to save money, will it still protect my equipment? I would like to turn everything off at night and turning the strip off would be convenient but I want to still have my electronic equip protected.

jess7hk asked: I tried to make it work but I discoverd a major problem. Everytime I disconnect the power cord from my system the BIOS ROM looses all his data; I tried to replace the backup battery and upgraded the bios to a newer release, it didn’t solve the problem.
Moreover is the motherboard in bad condition, the surface of the coolers and connectors are seriously scratched and a lot of pins are bended, two are broken.
Do you have any idea how I can solve the Bios ROM issue?
