My external firewire/usb hard drive i noticed stopped functioning correctly when plugged into a surge protector. i have then plugged it into a normal socket to discover that the HDD works perfectly. does this mean that the psu for the hard drive is spiking? I can confirm that the surge protector is functioning properly also as all of the other products plugged into are working correctly with no similar issues.

Since using it the problems I’ve had before - computer not booting up when I turn it on until many, many attempts have not happened. I just bought it for battery backup in case of power outage and surge protection.

I’m wondering because I was considering getting a better quality PSU for (inside) my pc but it may not be necessary with this unit.

My battery backup on my PC has been making a clicking sound. It has done this twice now in the last 3 weeks, both times it’s happened was when the weather was bad outside — really windy a few weeks ago and really stormy today. Then a battery icon pops up in my icon list and it says 30 minutes of battery time remaining? I will unplug the battery backup and plug it back in and the clicking goes away. Anyone have an idea what’s wrong with it? We’ve had it for 3 years.

i just had my apc battery backups out. Now there no light come on. I had check my wall outlet is good, check my power cord is good and also i had check the board inside the battery backups it since like there are power. But the light is not come on. Did anyone out there know what is wrong with it?

I have an APC Back-UPS ES 350 and my cat spilled a drink off the desk into the open outlets…after letting it dry out, the surge strip side still works but none of the outlets on the battery backup side work anymore, and nothing with a 3 prong ground plug works at all. Is my battery toast and in need of a replacement or do I just need to trash the whole thing. They are pretty expensive to replace so if there is any one who knows of a more cost effective solution, I would GREATLY appreciate the help. —In the future I will only use my sons sippy cups when working since I was told I’m not allowed to throw the cat out the window, hehe.
