How come my PSP keeps track of the time even with the battery out?

battery backup

Even though I removed the battery from my PSP, a little while later I put it back in, turned it on and the time was correct - there was no source of power. Does it have like backup power from the battery or something?
Another thing I noticed is when I unplug the computer, even for weeks, it keeps track of the time, internet or no internet (i think)

Computers have a small internal battery. It lasts sooo many years and unless you have ever had to change on, you might not even realize it. I’m guessing the PSP has something similar.

because it is supposed to do that in order for your system to get time right and not reset every time you get your battery out

The PSP has a lithium battery in it, this is a vital controller on all electronics with a clock, VCR’s, Phones, PC’s and the PSP of course. The battery will last around a week on the PSP, sometimes a bit more, if this battery goes flat the PSP will prompt you to input the time and date next time you start it up. It’s is very clever but at the same time it is so simple, the battery is about twice the size of a standard watch battery and will clip into the PSP’s mother board.
