i have 600va ups .. i am using it just to give power backup for my internet modem which takes 12vol 1ah input..
How much time my ups can support that modem? .. there is 12volts 7ah battery in my ups..
and is there any formula to calculate power consumption of a electronic device ?

You can compute with the AH thing. A=ampere, H=hour. Just check the current rating of your modem.
If it says 500mA. Then time(H)= 7AH/0.5A = 14hours assuming the battery is fully charged.
