Hum noise in house, even when main breaker is OFF?
robert w asked:
Experiencing a continuous hum noise in house. We have turned off all power to house and it still exists. We have also disconnected the cable and home security battery power. Only thing I can think of is the home theater radio freq. devices or the fire and ion w/ battery backup detectors. Any Suggestions? Totally confused ! Thanks
The sound is throughout the house. No noise around breaker box, no hot breakers, etc. Power transformer is about 120 feet from home. Thanks

Make sure someone didn’t flip the “on” switch to your vibrator.

Is the hum near the main breaker box.?? If there is a transformer on the pole near your house, there can be a hum, (vibration) that can travel down the wires, using your home as a ’sounding board’..Even if the breaker is off. You can put your ear on the wall near the main breaker box connections, and see if this is the case..
