Is psp worth buying with all those complaints of dead pixels flooding the forums, websites?
anubhav m asked:
I have been surveying different websites and forums. Please suggest me is psp worth buying with all those complaints of dead pixel coming over. PSP does not seem to be very durable stuff.
Also plz tell me is the gaming experience good enough in terms of graphics, sound etc.
Also if I want to listen to music does it have good battery backup and audio quality.

yes. i recommend a psp-1000. it’s great! i’ve dropped mine over 6 times and it has not 1 scrath on it! plus it works with all homebrew if you’re thinking of installing CFW on it. i’ve hacked over 83 psp game systems including EVERY model of the slim and over sound and battery….. i recommend the first psp. good luck! btw, GREAT gameplay…. i got God Of War-Chains Of Olympus about 1 month before it was released in stores!

My recommendation would be a PSP Slim2000. the new 3000 doesn’t have many updates and a 2000 is pretty reasonable on ebay.
PSP can do so much without even hacking it. Plays MP3’s, Movies, Online games, Skype Phone, Expandable memory, Internet Radio, RSS feeds, Home Audio/video IRcontrol. Composite Cables out for playing games or watching a movie on a LCD .
Graphics:
The PSP has one 4.3″ LCD screen at..get this..16.77 million colors and has 2 processors at 333MHz. Play God of War and see the quality. It’s just like a PS2 especially on an LCD TV.
Mine has many many hours of use from myself, and my 4,7 and 14 year old kids without a scratch or dent from the drops on the floor.
I plug my PSP into the I-POD connector in my car and lasts 3 hours without being plugged in. The audio quality in the car is cd quality. The speakers directly in the unit are ok..but get the Sony PSP headphones with BASS. Very nice.
That’s just the start. If you want more install a homebrew and you can rip your UMD games to the memory card so that you don’t need to carry all 20 games around in a dum case. Play them from the memory card or even better you can play them directly from your pc through a usb cable for unlimited storage. You can even watch Internet TV.
Check out the Harmony page. It shows how the PSP can control/view/listen to the Audio and Video on your PC from anywhere in the world over the internet!
