Simple question regarding power surge and power backup facility?

battery backup

This is the product I bought

It needs to be turned on by pushing a button. My question is whether I should leave the power backup/power surge protector still on when my pc is turned off. It doesn’t say in the instructions what I should do in this regard but I believe if there is no power going through my pc at all that the battery inside it won’t recharge and then it will stop working.

You should always keep it on , a surge can still fry your closed pc without it.

UPS systems do require to be left on at all times in order to maintain their battery charge. Turning them off when not in use causes the battery to drop in voltage during that period, and they are designed to need to only trickle charge with no load, and then only supply enough power when it is loaded to maintain that charge.

must be left on at all times to give you continue protection and keep the unit charged at the same time, surges still happen even with your pc turned off, the ups will help arrest these and protect your valued gear
