home alarm goes off but is not switched on?

This is weird, the alarm is not activated but it goes off a couple of times during the day and needs the code entering to turn it off.
Something similar happened last year and i changed the backup battery and it stopped. I have done the same again only to test the old battery and find it is fully 12 volt which it should be.
It only happens in the day
