Battery Backup Guide

I bought a NEW battery.. but again it is not charging.

When i play with the adaptor lead for a while it shows charging light .. after a while it starts blinking..

if I touch my laptop or move it just a little bit.. the charging light goes off.

What could be the problem ?

I am really looking forward for some expert to help me.

My laptop DO NOT RUN without a battery, plugged into the adapter directly.

i have a Acer travelmate2702 LMi.
Its battery backup has reduced to a 30 min on full charge.
Its power connection gets disconnected as soon as i switch it on, therefore i cannot work for more then 30min on it.

Can some help on this.
