I just bought a Brother MFC-7840W printer. I plugged its power cord into my APC battery backup and when I powered up the printer it’d turn the entire surge protector off. After reading into it, Brother said not to do this. So I plugged the printer into the bottom outlet while the top outlet is occupied by the APC surge protector. Only, when I power the printer on, the surge protector beeps periodically.

Is this a problem? Is my house going to catch on fire? Should I find another location for the printer to plug into so the surge protector isn’t beeping, even though its not going into the surge protector?

All of a sudden my printer( which is connected to a portable outlet and then that is connected to my battery backup) stopped working and wont come on. The battery just keeps beeping but my computer is working ok that is connected to the battery? Did I overload it? also my friend connect her heater into a breaker and now her battery is beeping? What can she do to fix this?

My APC battery backup for this desktop keeps alarming and I don’t know why. It’s never done it this frequently, at least once every minute.

Before it’s only done it when there is a blink or sag in the power for a split second… Is the internal battery dying? What is going on?

I have an APC battery backup/surge protector, obviously, and I’ll be using my computer and the solid tone beep will just start going off. Power didn’t go out, the light on the battery backup is still on, the only connections i’m using are the 3 with surge protection. the ones without surge protection aren’t touched. anyone know whats happening? or how I avoid it?

After about 3 years the battery stopped working for my computer so I started using it as a power supply for charging cameras and cell phones. Yesterday it stopped working and started a ringing which has not stopped for 16 hours. What can be done to stop this and why is it ringing constantly?
It is unplugged and still ringing. I have put it outside to keep from having to listen to the noise.

I first noticed something wrong when I powered up the PC and the APC logo popped up saying that my battery backup wasn’t hooked up. Weird because it is. Now a few days later, I have a red light on at the bottom of my batter backup near where the phone lines plug in. What have I done wrong? Or is the battery no good? Any suggestions? Has anyone had a similar problem? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks :)

Wall Fault or the Surge Protector/Battery Backup?

I tried to install my husband and mine’s computer in our new house this weekend. We are renting and it is a little bit older house, but it is in good condition. We have a surge protector/battery backup and when I plugged it in the wall fault light started blinking, but didn’t stay lit. It has been unplugged for a couple of days, so I’m wondering if the problem is that the battery just needs charging. I talked to the landlord and the couples before us had computers which worked fine and also had Directv. The surge protector is a APC surge protector/battery backup.
