I went to local market and they told me dry battery ups can give backup time of 30 minutes only max and the liquid battery ups can give a lot more backup time than those dry ones but they do damage to you transistors in your pc. I was using my pc and without any flactuation of electricity my pc was crashed and on checking i was told that motherboards chip is damaged. My house is connected with luminous ups attached to liquid batteries 145amp does the liquid battery really damages the transistors?

first time, it let it charge for about 7 hours or so.

The make/model of my UPS does not have a connector/cable intended for adding another battery. Should the batteries be connected in series or in parallel (using some separation diodes)? The current drawn from batteries and the voltage drop across the separation diodes might pose some problems. Connecting the batteries in series might confuse the electronics that the batteries is charged. I know that this might be a simplistic approach but did someone tried this? (Any explanation, details, links or schematics wolud be appreciated).
