Seyryn asked: I recently installed an remote start, then suddenly my battery was completely dead a week later, I replaced the battery and had the car tested and it turns out there is a power drain on the battery when the car is off, the guys at Advanced Auto Parts said that it was probably the remote start sucking power when the car was off, so I went back to the remote start place and they said the drain wasn’t the remote start, they unplugged the “backup” fuse and the drain disappeared, does anyone know what the backup fuse is for???

amsga asked:
I was just wondering what is the difference between a surge protector and a power strip with a fuse attached to the head? Which is better for what situation and can one replace the other totally?
