Handheld devise: iPAQ 3955 Internal Battery?

The Internal Battery on my HP iPAQ Model 3955 died and I just ordered a replacement battery online. QUESTION#1: Is it relatively easy to open the back of the iPAQ and replace the battery? QUESTION # 3: Any other Windows based handheld devices or even the HP iPAQ one - that has a removable Memory Card/ Memory Stick that you can just remove, inset into your laptop and do BACKUP/ Sync your data that way instead of what I’m doing now, which is download the software first onto EACH AND EVERY computer or laptop I want to Sync/ Bankup the data on my iPAQ with, then carry this heavy, cumbersome Sync Cradle with me, connect it between computer/laptop and iPAQ and wait hours for it to Sync.

I would prefer to get a Windows based Handheld and I will NOT be using it as a cell
