Battery Backup Guide

I will be attending Ohio State university this fall and I am planning on buying a new laptop and i have a major dilemma.

I am stuck choosing between battery life and power. I would love to get a high end i7 with better graphics, but I don’t want to have to live with an hour and a half of battery life.

So My QUESTION IS… How many continuous hours do you really use your laptop in college? Do I need 4 or more hours or battery life or can I get by with 2?

I unplug my laptop once it is fully charge and he said that leaving it plugged in after it is charged isn’t what damages the battery but it is charging it before the battery is low. I like to know about the vaio battery backup . I recharged the battery to 100% but when I switched on the next day to use it it showed 92% battery backup. Even when the laptop is not in use the battery discharges. How can I tackle this ?

I need a power converter to travel overseas. Is it safe to plug a surge protector into the converter and then plug my laptop into the surge protector? Can I use more than one outlet at the same time on the surge protector without causing any problems?

Actually, my clumsy husband spilled his water all over our desk and it proceeded to spill back behind the desk and straight onto a wall outlet, and surge protector, and all over the surrounding cords. We have already disconnected his laptop from its power source as a preventative measure…what, if anything, should we do next? Can this create a bigger problem?

I recently got a desktop, i’ve been using a laptop for the past few years.

I am already sick of the electricity flickering for like one second and shutting off my computer in the process while i’m in the middle of something.

Is there some sort of battery I can buy that’ll keep my computer from turning off during these 1 second power outages? If there is, what’s it called and where can I get one?

my laptop is of hcl.. the problem is that… it shuts down instantly when the charger is connected to it… it works perfectly over the battery backup..i hv checked the charger..it functions properly over other laptop… somthing is worng with the laptop… it directly switches off when charger is connected..
please help me!!!
