I bought a new lcd tv and got a really expensive surge protector so it doesn’t ever blow up. It’s all hooked up and working, but the surge protector has a connection for the cable to run through that instead of directly from the wall into the cable box. I presently have the cable cord going from the wall to the cable box, but want to hook it up from the wall to the surge protector so it is protected. My question is, do I need 2 cables to do this? One from the wall to the surge protector and one cable from the surge protector to the cable box? Thanks!

hdd recoorder around 40 watts
foxtel box around 20 watts
my ups is 350va 210 watts
do you think thease 3 things would work well on the ups battery backup
