Cupooterluvr asked: I wanted to be able to use the switch outlet, but my computer’s surge protector covers up the other hole… Can I plug the surge protector into a power strip (the plug isn’t angled on the power strip) without overloading it? Nothing is changing about the arrangement of the plugs on the surge protector except that I’m plugging a lamp into the switch outlet.

Or which one handles the ‘vampire’ effect better, the surge protector or the power switch?

I have one outlet and the treadmill says to use a single-source surge protector, which I have, but I can’t plug the tv into the socket unless I use some sort of power strip for the two.

My garage only has two wall outlets and they are in two inconvenient places. I want to know if it is okay to plug the extension cord into the wall outlet but have a power strip/surge protector in the other end.

Betsy R asked:
I understand that if an electronic is turned off (but still plugged in), electricity still runs through it. Is this the case if the electronic is plugged into a surge protector or power strip and that is turned off?

I was just wondering what is the difference between a surge protector and a power strip with a fuse attached to the head? Which is better for what situation and can one replace the other totally?

I checked the battery and it reads around 5.5 Volts DC. SO I think the battery is good, it just won’t power off the protected outlets, just the unprotected ones. So there must be something wrong with the strip itself and not the battery
