I just bought a 7 cubic foot chest freezer for our garage and I am about to stock it up. The freezer alarms that I have seen do not seem to be very loud. Nor do they give any back up in case the freezer goes out. My UPS battery backup that my PC is plugged in is VERY loud and I have about 15 minutes of warning. My question… can I plug my freezer into the same type of UPS that I use for my PC?
~thanks~

Hello there. I have a digital inverter UPS 2yrs old. I am using
Exide Powerbox battery for it. It is 80 Ampere battery and also 2yrs old.
I do checkup my battery regularly, and top-up the water level if needed.
But now a times it discharges very quickly.
When it was new it provides current for at least 2-2.30 hrs. But now it discharges within 1 hr.
Could u pls guide me to increase the backup time of my UPS inverter?
What should I do? pls help!!
Thanks and regards.

xbtuner562 asked: Hi,
My company uses a large UPS(Uninterrupted Power Supply) for power backup for our servers. This morning there was a very overpowering smell coming from our server room. We found that one of the batteries had leaked. Is there and potential danger from the fumes coming from it?

JC asked:
Is there any ways that I can use rechargeable batteries to power my 12V microcontroller if the AC power cuts out?
The microcontroller requires 12V 50mA to operate. I wanna use rechargeable batteries for around 10 hours backup so it will still do its work even if the AC power is not providing. What kind of rechargeable batteries do you recommand and how do I connect the circuit? Thanks!
Note: Microcontroller currently use a 12V 1000mA DC adaptor.
Do you mean that I can just get a 400VA 200W UPS backup and plug directly to the wall and the dc adaptor?
If I just plug the 200W UPS to the adaptor, does it mean that I can run the microcontroller for a long period of time? Because I’m confused about the Full load run time/Half load run time of the UPS…It’s just about 3mins at full load and 10mins for half load…confusing

I have an APCC Smart-UPS 1000 battery backup system. I went to replace the battery inside (12volt/12amp) battery and connected it incorrectly. (positive wire to negative battery terminal and negative wire to positive terminal).. one of the connectors shorted out and got fried. i want to cut off the connector and put a new crimp-on one in its place. is it safe for me to cut the wire, splice it and put a new terminal on. Of course the unit would be unplugged from the wall when and if I did this. I just wanted to make sure it was safe to do and if there is anythign else I should do before cutting it. I really dont think there would be an issue but i figured asking first wouldn’t hurt.
