I don’t have their phone service and if the power goes out, I wont need it. I have disconnected the battery (dated about 3 years old). All I want to do is stop it from beeping. Thanks.
Sorry I wasn’t more clear in my original question. The battery died after a little over 2 years. That is why I disconnected it. Verizon has told me that battery replacement is the customer’s responsibility. The tech reccomended that I pick one up at RadioShack. Thanks for your response. If I had a UPS to power my router, at least I could still use my laptop during a blackout. But the truth is my power almost never goes out. So I either need to fork over $30-40 for a new battery of see if I can rip out the alarm from the device.
