Amplified Distortion asked:
I have my computer which has a power supply that ranges between 300-400 watts, my LCD Monitor, and my playstation 3 all plugged into the same surge protector. The box said it could handle up to 150,000 joules or something like that. Is my surge protector able to handle this much power on it. Or is it overloaded.

I want to put together a solar powered battery backup system. I need to know the bare bones basics of electricity. Volt, amps, watts and converting back and forth between them. Is there a website someone can recommend that will help and not be too confusing?

Anjay M asked: I m considering changing the battery to a bigger one so as to increase the backup duration.
The battery that came with it is 12V 7.5 Ah. The battery I m planning to put is a 12 V 100 Ah. Now my question is, will the big battery increase the standby duration without toasting the hardware in the UPS and charge the battery once its drained ?
P.S. I have an APC Back-UPS ES 500 VA,300 Watts.
I m aware of that aspect and I do plan to keep the battery externally.
But will the charger be sufficient to recharge the bigger battery.

frank4sam asked: I have recently bought an 1400KV microtek inverter, need to get the right battery. My current usage needs would be just about 120 watts, however needs could increase and looking for backup time of 6-8 hours. Any recommendation on the optimal battery configuration and pricing would be very much appreciated. Any dealer contact in chennai would be helpful.
Thanks
