I use a UPS power backup system by APC for my cordless phones, computer, cable Internet Modem, Router, and VoIP ATA adapters.

Because I use VoIP for my home phone system, I made sure I have power back-up system in case of power outage. And, this includes the cordless phones.

You can buy UPS systems at most retailers. Just plug the phones ac adapter into the UPS and plug the UPS into the wall.
If power is interrupted the UPS will continue to supply line voltage to the phones.

Well the obvious backup is alkaline batteries. As for the phone, have a good old fashioned "just plugs into the phone socket" one as backup.

Do you really lose power that often to even warrant this question?

I suppose you could buy UPS's for EVERYTHING, but that's a big investment.

Maybe just have your home's power lines checked out.
