UPS battery discharged - Does UPS still provide surge suppression?
Steven asked:
The battery in my APC Back_UPS Pro 650 is discharged - but I do NOT want to purchase another battery or UPS because the stand alone computer system it is protecting will no longer be used in a couple of months.

Will that UPS (with the discharged battery) still provide surge suppression. I do realize that without a working battery, it can no longer go on battery backup nor automatically shutdown the computer.

Yes, the surge suppressor, has nothing to do with the battery. However if there is no power coming out of the UPS, then the suppressor is ofline as well. sashawhitefur

yes it still will have it. The only reason why there is a battery is if you were working on something an wanted it saved. It would also prevent futhering any currpt files that are associated with the os an what not. ryuk_131shinigami
