		<description>Yes, a car battery can be used. The alarm system is designed to use any 12vt DC source. Use just like you say - out of the cabinet and charge it off site. One thing to check, this may not apply to your system. Some systems, when you open the control box door, have a push-button switch that disconnects the power / system until you shut and lock the door again. Hope this helps.</description>
