-- Defective Battery.
-- Defective Alternator.
-- The terminals aren't tight or aren't clean.
-- The belt going to the alternator isn't tight enough.
-- Didn't ground the negative battery cable.
-- When they hooked the new battery cables up, they might not have hooked them up right one way or another.
-- Check all connections with the battery, the alternator, and the starter...and all the wiring connecting them.
-- Clean the terminals for the battery, and clean the terminals for the starter. They may not look dirty, but if you take a wire brush to them, you'd be surprised how dirty they are, or could be.
-- If the battery is dead/drained....you will have to jump it to get it going.

I didn't know any of this, but this is what my boyfriend said could possibly be wrong and most people don't think to check or do. trapt_is_awesome06

Just a thought for you. I once had a Monte Carlo in which the brake light switch would turn on by itself during the night. Took me weeks to figure it out. Good luck to you. Mike C

Try disconnecting the battery wire from the alternator. Put tape around the wire end to temporarily keep it from shorting to ground. Try removing one fuse at a time to see what fuse circuit might be the culprit. bobweb
