Probably a failing UPS. especially if it's hooked to the battery side. The battery side won't work if the battery can't hold a charge.

ventillation, make sure there is plenty of airflow around your DVR, the main reason HDD's crash and cause the system to reboot is due to heat, so make sure you have good airflow, don't put anything on top of it and don't put it on top of anything that gets hot. ie. don't stack it ontop of a dvd player or put a dvd player on top of it.

Probably a faulty DVR. I had to go through 3 supposedly brand new DVRs also with Adelphia before I finally got one that worked. The signal booster may also be a contributing factor. That 8 way splitter could be a nuisence too. I would first try to remove the Booster and the splitter, just to see if it makes a difference. My Adelphia tech told me that these can damage DVRs and cable in general. DVR's are relatively new and I don't think they have all the bugs worked out. If you still have the problem after eliminating the other items, I'd get the unit replaced.

SUPER LONG SHOT, BUT IF IT WORKS RIGHT SOME OF THE TIME, CHECK THE AMBIENT HEAT ENVIRONMENT. THE UNIT MAY BE GETTING TOO HOT.
