When you purchase a new replacement laptop battery, does it come already fully charged?

battery backup
laptopgirl asked:

I need to send my laptop in for repairs because the ac power cord won’t stay plugged in. My current battery is completely void of charge, so I’m not able to power up my laptop. Therefore I can’t backup my data prior to sending in my laptop. I would like to purchase a new battery so that I can perform the necessary backups. I can only do this if the new battery comes already charged.

Why??!! As far as I know, when even a fully charged battery remains for some time, you’ll need to recharge it; so you’ll have to fully recharge the battery before the first use & you don’t have to get the full one, first replace the battery, recharge it & then when it’s full, back up you data!

No. You have to charge the charge cycle varying from manufacturer to manufacturer

No, rechargeable batteries usually come with little or no charge.

I dont think that the new battery would come already charged. If you’d like to backup extract the hard disc from the laptop and use and adaptor to connect the 2.5 hdd into your computer. If you’re not sure go to a computer cable store with the hard disk they’ll surely know what kind of adapter you’ll need to connect your laptop’s hd to your desktop PC.

Unfortunately batteries do not comes fully charged. You need to get it charged for 6 to 10 hours before able to use normally.

    For your problem -

    1. Buy a new battery - get it charged from some other laptop of same model and brand

    2. Request the battery supplier to get it fully charged.

    3. Fix the power cord with some external means - rope or cello tape - and charge the battery.

However you must find out some means to take back up of your data before sending it to repair. They do not give assurance of data retention and there is very good possibility that the data you have in HDD will be lost. Take back up and send.

Laptop batteries do not come charged. Some stores can backup your data for you before sending it out for repair. I believe Comp USA does it for a fee.
