Will a battery backup work with other appliances?

I’ve looked around and noticed that just about all of the battery backups they have out there are for computers. I’m just curious if I can run, say, my grandfather’s air purifying thingy on it in the event of a blackout. However, there are models that say there is software that automatically shuts down your computer? Does this mean it’ll cut my grandfather’s oxygen supply? (In the event of a blackout)

As long as the backup system provides enough power for your purifier, it will work just fine.
Even the best backup system may run out of power. In that case, it is nice to be able to automatically shutdown a PC. This function does not apply to your purifier.
