Would plugging a surge protector in to another surge protector protect my computer more?

surge protector
jeeptiff33 asked:

I lost a tv and a computer on 2 separate occasions, both were plugged in to a separate surge protector. If I plug in one protector and then plug another one in to the surge protector in the wall then plug my pc in, will it help protect it more?

    uh I don’t think so.
Check your wall outlet. I have one in my house that sucks. When my TV, VCR, DVD etc players were plugged into my surge protector, they still went Boom! It’s the outlet.

Actually, yes. A surge protector absorbs any over-voltage from the power line and/or slows it down to allow the regulator circuits in electronic devices to react. Two surge protectors will slow the surge down even more and the second one may absorb what’s left of a surge that fries the protection circuit of the first protector. This would be a rare and extreme case but it could happen. But no surge protector can help if it’s plugged into a non-grounded or 2 pin outlet. Even a 2 pin to 3 pin adaptor won’t fix this problem. You need a grounded outlet.
